"...Through the years, I have noticed the long-rage effectiveness of leaders revolves around simple habits that those leaders practice outside of the group meeting."
-- Dave Earley, 8 Habit Patterns of Effective Small Group Leaders
Grace Community Fellowship Church is an interdenominational, cell-based, multi-congregational church of believers in Washington County and beyond. We pattern ourselves after Paul's example in Acts 20:20:
"You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you, but have taught you publicly and from house to house."
This pattern of large-city gatherings and small house fellowship is seen throughout Acts.
The cell group is considered to be the primary place where evangelism, discipline, and development of spiritual gifts occur. The large group meeting on Sunday morning is a time for worship, celebration, and the teaching of God's Word. Our cell groups are the primary unit within this fellowship, and are considered to be more important than anything else in the life of the church.
Our cell groups meet in small groups of 10-15 people on Wednesday nights. These group times are designed to encourage evangelism, provide opportunities to share how Godly principles from the Bible are being worked out practically in our lives, allow a place for members' spiritual giftings to minister to others in the group, and give time for meaningful fellowship.
Our adult home cells all meet on Wednesday nights. Also on Wednesday evenings, we have a youth group for ages 12-17, and a children's ministry for ages 3-11 that meet right here at GCF. Nursery services are provided for children under 3 years of age. The children's ministry and nursery services are for parents attending a cell group meeting. This provides a complete ministry to the whole family, which is a primary goal here at GCF.
